your computer can handle it, Vista uses your graphics card to power snazzy 3D extras, like Flip3D which uses a rolodex-type arrangement to show you what's going on in all open programs. You can also make windows more transparent, or change their colour. Looking through Windows folders is also easier.

XP is much quicker than Vista
With flip 3D the animation alone takes longer than that, besides the extra mousing time and motion. Of course, looking at what a joke they've turned WMP into with 11, I wouldn't be surprised if they included a "feature" like this in version 12, whilst simultaneously removing even more stuff that's actually useful and has a purpose. I pressed Windows + Tab to see another cool Aero feature — Flip 3D — which overlaps windows for all running programs and documents like a Rolodex, only show stuff bought from the iTunes store or video on your hard disk, but won’t tune into or record live TV — a far more interesting and useful feature to me.

I still can't find where the hell flip3D ever calls the Init3D function, yet somewhere hidden in there it must (and I've done a text search through the program for it. I'm still learning how to program 3D stuff (as some of my questions to this board show). DX3 D3D almost drove me to the nuthouse.

10) Miss: Graphics & Memory Requirements The flip side to my positive comments about both the Aero Glass interface and Flip 3D is that users who want to do the full Vista can't skimp on hardware.
